Savoury & spicy roasted almonds are a quick and easy to make savoury nibble. There is nothing quite like the smell of roasting nuts emanating from you kitchen! But be sure to keep a close eye on them – by the time they smell burnt, it’s usually too late.
I’ve used almonds but cashews, pecans, walnuts, macadamia’s or mixed nuts would all work well too. Serve to party guests, enjoy as a snack or give them to someone as a tasty homemade gift…
- 200 g raw, unsalted almonds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- black pepper, to taste
Combine all the ingredients and stir well to coat the nuts in oil and spices.
Bake on a lined baking sheet at 180°C for 10 - 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Gently shake the tray once or twice during the cooking time.
